Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the thirty-second U.S. president, led us through not only most of the Great Depression, but also through nearly the completion of World War II. The U.S. government honored him with his portrait on the dime, issued one year after his death in 1945. Still issued to this day, the series is very collectible, issued in silver through 1964. San Francisco Proof issues from 1992 to date were struck in both silver and copper-clad.
